1. Arthur (1872–1922), Irish nationalist leader and statesman, President of the Irish Free State 1922. In 1905 he founded and became president of Sinn Fein. He became Vice-President of the newly declared Irish Republic in 1919 and negotiated the Anglo-Irish Treaty (1921)
